St. Cloud, Minn. - The St. Cloud Norsemen have signed three skaters to North American Hockey League tenders: forwards Max Strand and Hogan Sinjem, and defenseman Leo Gruba.

Strand, a Roseau, Minnesota native, had 20 points in 22 games played for Team Sanford Power in Upper Midwest High School Elite League Hockey this fall. Strand had 83 points in 46 games for Roseau High in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. The 5'9 ‚¬Â³ right-shooting forward was a Norsemen NAHL Entry Draft pick in July 2021.

Sinjem, a right-shot forward, posted 23 points in 23 games played for Team Twin Cities Orthopedics in the UMHSEHL this fall. The 6'0 ‚¬Â³ 17-year-old hails from Champlin, Minnesota and tallied 52 points in 40 games for Champlin Park High School over the last two seasons.

Gruba, from Lake Elmo, Minnesota, is a 6'2 ‚¬Â³ defensemen that's spent the last 2 years at Hill-Murray School, scoring 20 points in 45 games the last two seasons and won a state championship in 2020. Gruba dialed up the offense in the UMHSEHL this fall, scoring 27 points in 23 games en route to a championship with Team MPLS St. Paul Magazine.

Once a player signs a tender with a NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL. Each franchise is allowed 10 tenders, which became active on November 1.

The St. Cloud Norsemen are off to an 8-5-0 start in the 2021-22 season, presented by Premier Real Estate. St. Cloud currently sports six NCAA Division I committed players on its active roster. The Norsemen travel to face Minot on the road this weekend, before returning home to St. Cloud on November 20 for the team's first meeting with North Iowa.
