
Normal CornBelters Add More Arms

Normal, IL - The Normal CornBelters, presented by Illinois Corn Farmers, have re-signed right-handed pitcher Kyle DiMartino and signed left-handed pitcher Ryan Demmin. The CornBelters will play their first regular season home game of the 2013 season at the ballpark on Tuesday, May 21 at 7 p.m. versus the Windy City Thunderbolts (CEFCU Opening Night).
DiMartino amassed a 1-3 record, with a 4.55 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 31.2 innings pitched for the CornBelters last season. Prior to joining the CornBelters in 2012, he played collegiately at Dixie University (St. George, UT) and Western Nevada College (Carson City, NV).
"Kyle's got a solid year under his belt, and we expect him to be even better this summer," said CornBelters Field Manager, Brooks Carey.
Demmin has spent the past three seasons playing for four different teams within the Washington Nationals organization. Last season, he posted a 1-2 record, with a 4.57 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 63 innings pitched for the Potomac Nationals (Carolina League - Class High A). He played collegiately at Minnesota State University (Mankato, MN).
" Ryan's had the kind of seasons we look for from affiliated pitchers," said Carey. "All reports we've gotten on him tell us he'll be a big contributor this season."
