NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Tides released their complete 2011 schedule Tuesday. The 144-game schedule includes 72 games at Harbor Park.
The Tides will open the season on Thursday, April 7 in Charlotte with an 11:15 a.m. contest. The season-opening, nine-game road trip will also see the Tides make stops in Gwinnett and Durham before arriving at Harbor Park.
The Tides will open the home portion of their schedule on Saturday, April 16 with a 7:15 p.m. game against Charlotte. The nine-game home stand will feature the Knights, the Gwinnett Braves and the Durham Bulls.
The standard start time for Tides games played Monday-Saturday remains 7:15 p.m., though some exceptions do apply. The schedule features eight, weekday matinee games, as well as seven Sunday afternoon contests. In addition, Saturday, May 28 will feature a later, 8:00 p.m. first pitch.
The Tides will celebrate Independence Day weekend with games on Friday, July 1 against the Scranton Wilkes-Barre Yankees and on Saturday, July 2 and Sunday, July 3 against the Charlotte Knights. All three games will be followed by a spectacular fireworks show. A full promotional schedule will be released in the spring.
