Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees News Release

In 2009 Eduardo Nunez put himself on the baseball map finishing third in the Eastern League with a .322 average, hitting nine home runs and driving in 55. In 2010, the shortstop showed that '09 was no fluke as he was one of just three International League Players named to the 2010 Topps' Triple-A All-Star Team.

Nunez led the SWB Yankees in hits with 134, stolen bases with 25, tied for the team lead in average at .289 and was second in doubles with 25. He was named to both the International League's mid-season and post season all-star teams and spent the majority of the season at or near the IL lead in both batting average and hits until his first Major League call up to New York on August 19th, where he would spend the remainder of the 2010 season. Nunez appeared in 30 games with New York hitting .280 (14-50) with a home run and seven RBI's.

2010 is the second consecutive season that Nunez has been honored by Topps' with a post season all-star selection. He was named the top shortstop in Double-A after his outstanding 2009 season with the Trenton Thunder.
