
Noodlers Drop Finale on Seven Homers from the Surge

Tulsa - For the second time this week the Wichita Wind Surge managed seven home runs off the Tulsa Noodlers pitching staff. The Noodlers jumped out to an early 6-0 on Sunday afternoon, but Wichita finished the game scoring eleven unanswered runs for a 14-8 victory at ONEOK Field.
The Noodlers came out swinging on Sunday, scoring in each of the first three innings. Tulsa scored one run in the first when an errant throw brought Miguel Vargas in from third.
The Noodlers added five more in the second that began with the first run scoring on a forceout. Michael Busch added one more with an RBI double. Vargas and Hunter Feduccia drove in the final three runs of the inning, each hitting ru-scoring singles for a 6-0 lead.
Wichita's comeback began in the third when BJ Boyd hit a three-run homer.
Tulsa responded in the bottom half scoring two on a double from Justin Yurchak for an 8-3 lead.
The Wind Surge came back to within one run using a solo home run from Andrew Bechtold, a sac fly and a two-run homer from Leobaldo Cabrera.
Jermaine Palacios tied the game at 8-8 with his solo homer in the seventh.
Wichita scored six runs in the eighth on three home runs for a 14-8 lead.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
*The Tulsa Noodlers are now 3-1 on the season.
*Only two of Tulsa's eight runs was earned.
*Yurchak finished with another multi-hit game. He has now recorded
eight multi-hit games in 13 games for Tulsa.
*Zach Willeman was the only Tulsa pitcher to not give up a run on Sunday afternoon.
*Wichita finished with seven home runs for the second time this week.
*Tulsa gave up 21 home runs this series. That is the most in all of professional baseball during this past week.
*Boyd recorded his third multi home run game for the Wind Surge this week against Tulsa.

The Tulsa Drillers will continue their 12-game homestand when the Northwest Arkansas Naturals come to ONEOK Field for a six-game series beginning on Tuesday, August 17 at 7:05 p.m.
