Non-Profit Groups See Pros Of Royals

Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

OMAHA, NE - Once again in the 2010 season, the Omaha Royals plan to highlight a community organization during each of the team's 72 home games. Through the Community Organization of the Night program in 2009, the Royals provided over $53,000 worth of advertising, table space and tickets at no cost to 72 non-profit groups and gave them a forum to talk about their work in the community. Non-profits interested in participating in the "CON" program in 2010 should call the Royals today, as spots are being filled fast.

Participating agencies will receive four tickets to the game at which they will be featured, an information table in Rosenblatt Stadium's front plaza, a chance for their representative to address the crowd and throw out a ceremonial first pitch before the game, plus the opportunity for their spokesperson to be interviewed during the radio broadcast of the game.

"This is a great interactive opportunity for area non-profit organizations to engage the nearly 400,000 O-Royals fans projected to attend a game at Rosenblatt Stadium in 2010," said Royals Vice President/General Manager Martie Cordaro. "We enjoy promoting the many organizations that make the metro area a better place to live for many people in need."

The Royals launched the Community Organization of the Night midway through the team's 2006 season. A business to sponsor this year's program, which would receive signage in the stadium's front plaza and other benefits, is still being sought.

Non-profit groups interested in being featured as a Community Organization of the Night should call Diann Spataro, Royals Community Relations Manager, at (402) 738-5109. Businesses interested in learning more about sponsoring the program should contact Rob Crain, Royals Assistant General Manager, at (402) 738-5132.

The Royals open their 2010 Pacific Coast League season at Rosenblatt Stadium on Thursday, April 8th at 7:05 p.m., facing the Memphis Redbirds. For tickets, call (402) 738-5100, or print tickets online at www.oroyals.com.
