NLL stars to display talents in Vail

DENVER - Fans will get a firsthand look at what an outdoor version of the National Lacrosse League may look like when the sport's biggest stars take part in the Vail Shootout this weekend in the Colorado high country.

A collection of NLL All-Stars and All-Pros, including Colorado Mammoth coach Gary Gait and captain Gavin Prout, will lead the Mammoth's entry in the elite field of the annual lacrosse tournament in Vail. Also suiting up for Team Mammoth will be 2006 NLL goal scoring leader John Grant Jr. of the Rochester Knighthawks, 2006 NLL rookie of the year Brodie Merrill of the Portland LumberJax, and 2006 first team NLL All-Pro Colin Doyle of the Toronto Rock.

Other NLL stars playing for Team Mammoth in Vail include Lewis Ratcliffe and Taylor Wray of the Calgary Roughnecks, Jim Moss and Jeff Zywicki of the San Jose Stealth, Shawn Williams and Steve Toll of the Knighthawks, and Andrew Turner of the Edmonton Rush. University of Denver standout and future NLL player Geoff Snider will also play.
