NLL announces Dodge All-Pro Teams

The announcements of the 2006 National Lacrosse League season award continues today with the naming of the Dodge First and Second Team All-Pros. Each team consists of five position players and one goaltender.

Dodge First Team All-Pro

Colin Doyle, Forward (Toronto Rock) - (43G, 53A, 96Pts, 67LB) - Doyle ranked third in the league in goals and overall points and ranked tied for fourth in assists. He ranked first on his team in goals, and second in both assists and overall points. Doyle collected two weekly league awards.

John Grant, Forward (Rochester Knighthawks) - (54G, 43A, 97Pts, 86LB) - Grant led the league in goals, 54, tied for fourth most all-time, and ranked second in the league in overall points. He led his team in goals and points, was third in assists and fifth in loose balls. Grant collected four weekly league awards.

Brodie Merrill, Defenseman (Portland Lumberjax) - (17G, 32A, 49Pts, 214 LB) - Merrill ranked second in the league in loose balls, 214, compiling the second highest total all-time. He ranked first on his team in loose balls, second on his team in assists, third in overall points and fourth in goals. Merrill collected seven weekly league awards, and two season awards, Belmont.com Defensive Player of the Year and Edge Active Care Rookie of the Year.

Gavin Prout, Forward (Colorado Mammoth) - (29G, 64A, 93Pts, 89LB) - Prout ranked second in the league in assists, 64, tied for sixth most all-time, and ranked fourth in overall points. He led his team in assists and overall points, was tied for first in goals and ranked fourth in loose balls.

Josh Sanderson, Forward (Toronto Rock) - (29G, 69A, 98Pts, 92LB) - Sanderson led the league in both assists, 69, tied for second most all-time, and points. He led his team in each of those categories, as well as ranking third in goals and fifth in loose balls.

Steve Dietrich, Goaltender (Buffalo Bandits) - (10-4, 568 Saves, 135GA, 9.97GAA, .808 SV %) - Dietrich led the league in wins for a goalie with 10, and also ranked first in both GAA and save percentage. He collected three weekly league awards as well as being named the 2006 RBK Goaltender of the Year.

Dodge Second Team All-Pro

Craig Conn, Forward (Arizona Sting) - (44G, 23A, 67Pts, 91LB) - Conn ranked second in the league in goals this season. He led his own team in goals ranked second in overall points, third in loose balls and fifth in assists. Conn collected two weekly league awards.

Dan Dawson, Forward (Arizona Sting) - (34G, 48A, 82Pts, 76LB) - Dawson ranked seventh in the league in overall points, tied for seventh in goals and tied for ninth in assists. He led his team in both assists and overall points and ranked second in goals. Dawson collected two weekly league awards.

Jay Jalbert, Defenseman (Colorado Mammoth) - (19G, 29A, 48Pts, 152LB) - Jalbert ranked fourth in the league in loose balls this season. Jalbert lead his team in loose balls, ranked third in assists, fourth in overall points and fifth in goals. Jalbert collected three weekly league awards.

Lewis Ratcliff, Forward (Calgary Roughnecks) - (37G, 54A, 91Pts, 94LB) - Ratcliff ranked third in the league in assists and fifth in both goals and overall points. He led his team in goals, assists, and overall points and ranked second in loose balls.

John Tavares, Forward (Buffalo Bandits) - (32G, 53A, 85Pts, 95LB) - Tavares ranked sixth in overall points, ninth in goals and tied for fourth in assists. He led his team in assists and points, ranked second in goals and third in loose balls. Tavares passed Gary Gait to become the league's All-Time Points leader and collected one weekly league award.

Nick Patterson, Goaltender (Minnesota Swarm) - (6-2, 342 Saves, 91GA, 10.40GAA, .790SV %) Patterson ranked third in the league in save percentage and fourth in GAA. He collected three weekly league awards.

The award winners are chosen by a vote of the leagues coaches, general managers, and executives.

The league will conclude its announcements of award winners tomorrow by announcing the winner of the Jet Blue Most Valuable Player Award for the 2006 season. The 2006 RBK NLL Championship Game presented by Edge Active Care takes place this weekend. The Buffalo Bandits host the Colorado Mammoth in the championship game on Saturday, May 13th at 6PM Eastern. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and Fox Sports World Canada.
