Josh Sanderson, Colin Doyle named to National Lacrosse League Dodge All-Pro Teams

TORONTO - Forwards Josh Sanderson and Colin Doyle were both selected as National Lacrosse League Dodge first team all-pros today.

Sanderson (29G, 69A, 98Pts, 92LB), whose cousin Phil also plays with the Rock, Josh Sanderson, led the league in both assists, 69, tied for second most all-time, and points. He led his team in each of those categories, as well as ranking third in goals and fifth in loose balls.

Doyle (43G, 53A, 96Pts, 67LB) ranked third in the league in goals and overall points and ranked tied for fourth in assists. The Waterloo native also ranked first on his team in goals and second in both assists and overall points.

They are joined by Peterborough's John Grant (F, Rochester Knighthawks), Orangeville's Brodie Merrill (D, Portland Lumberjax), Whitby's Gavin Prout (F, Colorado Mammoth) and Kitchener's Steve Dietrich (G, Buffalo Bandits).

The Dodge Second Team All-Pros include St. Catharines native Craig Conn (F, Arizona Sting), Oakville's Dan Dawson (F, Arizona Sting), Denver's Jay Jalbert (D, Colorado Mammoth), Victoria's Lewis Ratcliff (F, Calgary Roughnecks), Mississauga's John Tavares (F, Buffalo Bandits) and Victoria's Nick Patterson (G, Minnesota Swarm).

The award winners are chosen by a vote of the leagues coaches, general managers, and executives.

The league will conclude its announcements of award winners tomorrow by announcing the winner of the Jet Blue Most Valuable Player Award for the 2006 season. The 2006 RBK NLL Championship Game presented by Edge Active Care takes place this weekend. The Buffalo Bandits host the Colorado Mammoth in the championship game on Saturday, May 13th at 6PM Eastern. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and Fox Sports World Canada.
