
Ninth Inning Woes Sink Champions Versus Trois-Rivieres

OTTAWA - In one of the best games of the season, the Ottawa Champions and Trois-Rivieres Aigles went back and forth until the ninth inning. Trois-Rivieres ended up scoring two runs in the inning to tie and win the game, handing the Champions a tough 3-2 loss on Saturday night.
LHP Scott Maine took the loss after coming in for the save situation, giving up two base hits in the ninth inning to Aigles hitters OF Javier Herrera and then INF Taylor Brennan took the lead.
Trois-Rivieres held a 1-0 lead for most of the game, with RHP Jake Hale and RHP Kevin McNorton engaging in a pitchers' duel for the second straight night.
Afterwards the Champions had a couple base hits, and took a lead after C Zak Colby INF Vinny Guglietti cashed in runs with RBI singles. In the ninth, Trois-Rivieres scored their two runs to take the victory.
