Frisco RoughRiders News Release

FRISCO, TX- The RoughRiders rallied in the bottom of the ninth with two outs to win 6-5 over the Missions Monday afternoon at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Frisco won the series three games to one. It's the tenth home series win in a row.

Guilder Rodriguez recorded the first hit of the game off Missions' starter Hayden Beard with a single. With Jose Felix batting, Rodriguez stole second, and later scored on a fielder's choice.

Down 1-0, the Missions rallied back with a two-run fourth. "˜Riders starter Jake Brigham walked Jaff Decker to begin the frame. A wild pitch and a Nate Freiman single moved Decker to third, while a second wild pitch by Brigham scored the Missions leftfielder. Jonathan Galvez then doubled home Freiman to make it 2-1 San Antonio.

Down in a one-run hole, the Frisco bats remained silent until a solo home run to right field by Jurickson Profar, evened the score at two. The lead went back and forth as the Missions scored one run in the seventh and the RoughRiders scored two, putting Frisco up 4-3.

With a one-run advantage, "˜Riders reliever Johan Yan struggled in the bottom of the ninth, giving up a solo shot to Jonathan Galvez. Now a tie game, Yan hit Jeudy Valdez with a pitch, and forced in a run following three straight walks to give the Missions the lead back.

Following a pitching change, Fabio Castillo (2-1) held the line, getting Nate Freiman to pop up, leaving the bases loaded.

Down to their final out in the ninth, Jose Felix kept the RoughRiders hopes alive with a single to center off Jeremy McBryde (0-3). McBryde then hit Engel Beltre with a pitch, prompting a pitching change.

Now facing Jeff Ibarra, Jurickson Profar came through in the clutch, singling home Felix to knot the game at five. Ibarra then intentionally walked Mike Olt, to force a lefty-lefty matchup with Chris McGuiness. He hit a groundball to Jonathan Galvez who mishandled the ball, allowing McGuiness to reach first safely, and the run to score, to give Frisco the win 6-5.

Jeremy McBryde was charged with the loss, allowing a pair of runs (only one was earned) and striking out one. Fabio Castillo picked up his second win of the season getting Nate Freiman to pop out to shortstop Profar to end the San Antonio threat in the ninth.

The "˜Riders have a scheduled off day on Tuesday and will travel to Tulsa to face the Drillers on Wednesday. Tim Murphy (1-4, 5.67) tosses for the 'Riders. He will be opposed by Dan Houston (4-4, 3.49). First pitch is slated for 7:05, and can be heard on KKGM 1630 AM or on ridersbaseball.com . Pre-game coverage starts at 6:30.
