Colorado Rapids News Release
The Rapids' Argentine striker Nicolas Hernandez has been tearing up the league recently. In the past few weeks he's established himself as one of MLS's top hitmen, and he exploded last week. He was named MLS Player of the Week for his efforts in leading the Rapids to a 2-0-0 record in a 5-day span. With two goals and two assists, Hernandez had a hand in all four goals Colorado scored during the week.
On Independence Day, Hernandez led the Rapids to a 3-2 victory over the visiting Revolution, scoring two goals and notching an assist. He added another assist to his total in Saturday's match as well, setting up Clint Mathis on the game's only goal as the Rapids came away with a 1-0 victory over Kansas City.
