Maryland NightHawks News Release

Rockville, MD- After a terrible loss to the Stong Island Sound on Friday night the Nighthawks came back to rock the Newark Express.

The Nighthawks got back to playing true Nighthawk basketball. The Newark Express never knew what hit them. The Nighthawks led throughout the game coming away with a 129-110 victory. Omar Weaver (6'8''-F-80, college: Riverside JC) led the Nighthawks in scoring with 30 points and Nighthawks point gaurd Aton Jenifer played an all round great game scoring 20 points dishing out 7 assists and snatching 4 steals. Mufeed Thomas (6'4''-F-80, college: William Paterson) 's 29 points were not enough to help the Newark Express stop the surging Nighthawks.

The Nighthawks took adavantage of the ABA's unique 11nth man rule that allows a celebrity to suit up and play in an ABA game. The Nighthawks hosted JP Flaim from the WJFK 106.7 Free FM's popular "The Junkies" morning show. JP ignited the Nighthawks shooting 2-2 for 5 points and dishing out an enormous assist right before the half.

The 20-7 Maryland Nighthawks go on the road to take on their division rivals the Rochester Razorbacks Monday February 20th.
