Maryland NightHawks News Release

The Maryland Nighthawks showed why they are one of the most entertaining teams in the ABA at this weekends ABA All-Star Game. All Four Nighthawks chosen to the Eastern ABA All-Star team made significant contributions to the festivities.

Randy Gill (6'2''-G-78, agency: SBA Sport Mngm, college: Bowie St.) started things off by winning the ABA Three Point contest by scoring 36 points in the competitions final round. Then Nighthawks human highlight real Ray Cunningham (6'5''-F, college: Murray St.) promptly won the slam dunk contest with a perfect score of 50 in both rounds. He sealed the deal with a showtime pass off the shot clock from Gill. Nighthawks veteran and player/coach Lawrence Moten (6'5''-G/F-73, agency: World Sport Agency, college: Syracuse) scored 16 points and had 3 assists in the actual All-Star Game helping the East win 129-127. Nighthawks coach Keith Williams served as the Assistant Coach for the ABA Eastern All-Stars.
