Bellingham Slam News Release

Bellingham, WA - Slam officials announced today that they have confirmed former NBA All-Star Tim Hardaway will be visiting Bellingham to take on the Slam in a pair of ABA games on Sunday, February 19 at 5 pm and Tuesday, February 21 at 7 pm. Hardaway serves as a player/coach for the Florida Pit Bulls.

"After seeing the excitement surrounding Dennis Rodman's visit to Bellingham, we wanted to make sure we got another NBA star to visit Whatcom Pavilion," commented Slam general manager Bob Hofstetter. "I'm as interested as everyone else to see if he still has that crossover move."

Hardaway, 39, played 13 seasons in the NBA, most notably for the Golden State Warriors and Miami Heat, and was named a league All-Star five times. Hardaway was the second fastest player to score 5,000 points and collect 2,500 assists, accomplishing the feat in only 262 games. Hardaway last played in the NBA during the 2002-03 season with the Indiana Pacers. Through 25 games this season with the Pit Bulls, Hardaway is averaging 14.2 points per game on 42 percent shooting from the floor.

But before Hardaway comes to town this weekend, the Slam will entertain the Los Angeles Aftershock with a pair of games at Whatcom Pavilion on Tuesday, February 14 and Thursday, February 16. Both games begin at 7 pm.

Tickets for all Slam games can be purchased for $10 for adults, $8 for students, and $5 for children on the Slam's website at www.bellinghamslam.com.
