Oshawa Generals News Release
In his sophomore season with the Generals, William Ennis cemented himself as a presence on the back end for the team. More than tripling his point totals from his rookie season, Ennis finished his season with 11 points and his first Ontario Hockey League goal. He greatly improved his plus/minus totals in his second season, while seeing an increase in ice time.
Ennis was the Generals Scholastic Player of the Month twice during the regular season and the Ontario Hockey League East Division Scholastic Player of the Month for February. Following the completion of the season, he was awarded the Generals Bruce Melanson Scholastic Player of the Year Award given to the player who excels academically throughout the season at the team's annual awards.
This season, Ennis displayed a strong work ethic on the ice and dedicated effort in the gym showing growth and commitment to his physical fitness. His work did not go unnoticed as he was awarded the team's 2017-18 season Fitness Award.
Leading into the 2018 NHL Draft, Ennis has appeared continuously throughout the 2017-18 season on NHL Central Scouting's rankings. In January, he ranked 173rd for North American skaters when the midterm list was released. When the final rankings dropped in April, Ennis had climbed to 116th for North American skaters.
The NHL Draft will take place in Dallas, Texas June 22nd and 23rd 2018. Stay tuned to the Generals social media for draft coverage during the weekend.
