DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White officially confirmed that the Dallas Stars have assigned NHL Center Steve Ott to the Iowa Stars on Thursday evening. Ott's assignment comes on the heels of his reactivation off injured reserve and is a conditioning assignment.

Placed on the National Hockey League Injured Reserve back on November 16th with an ankle injury that occurred on October 28th, Ott appeared in just 11 games with Dallas this season, notching four assists and 15 penalty minutes: 11(0/4/4)15.

Last season, he posted NHL career highs with five goals, 17 assists and 22 points and was second on Dallas with 178 penalty minutes. Drafted by Dallas in first round, 25th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, he was the lone player to appear in all 82 games for the Dallas last season.

A native of Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada, his NHL totals reflect 192 games played, 10 goals, 35 assists, and 376 penalty minutes: 192(10/35/45)376.

IOWA STARS INFO: The Stars hit the road for a game in Omaha Friday night before hosting the Peoria Rivermen on Saturday, January 20th. The first 2,500 fans will receive a trading card set of the 2006-07 Iowa Stars. Following the game, the entire team will participate in a FREE autograph session for all fans in attendance.
