Falcons Recall Smolenak From Chiefs

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that left wing Radek Smolenak has been recalled from their ECHL affiliate, the Johnstown Chiefs. The Falcons also announced that forward Stanislav Lascek has been reassigned to the Chiefs.

Smolenak has played in 30 games for the Chiefs this season collecting 12 goals and 10 assists for 22 points. He currently leads Johnstown in goals and is fourth on the team in points. In two games with Springfield this season, he hasn't registered a point. The 6-foot-3, 204-pound native of Prague, Czech Republic started the 2006-07 season in Falcons training camp after scoring 42 goals in 65 games with Kingston of the Ontario Hockey League last year.

Lascek has played in 26 games with the Falcons this year collecting two goals and two assists for four points. The 6-foot, 195-pound native of Martin, Slovakia started the season in Johnstown registering five goals and 10 assists for 15 points in 10 games.

The Falcons will play three games in three days this weekend when they head to Providence on Friday, host Worcester on Saturday and travel to Hartford on Sunday.
