Inter Miami CF News Release
On Thursday, April 16, Inter Miami midfielder Lee Nguyen finished his participation in Twitch Rivals SuperGames ft. Fortnite, an event organized in an effort to raise money for charity that features athletes from across several American sports leagues, finishing 22nd overall out of the 50 teams in the Athlete Semifinals.
Despite not qualifying to the final stage of the competition, Nguyen, who teamed up with his former New England Revolution teammate Zachary Herivaux, managed to raise a portion of the tournament's $1 million prize to donate to charity.
Nguyen has directed his donation to the Baptist Health Foundation's COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund, which provides funding for Baptist Health to purchase critical supplies, technology and equipment for patients and clinical staff, including free meals and mental health resources for frontline staff, iPads for ICU patients and their families to connect, additional N95 masks, surgical masks, face shields, ventilators, lung ultrasounds, and free Telemedicine access to all in our community.
Inter Miami's George Acosta, Luis Argudo, Jay Chapman and Robbie Robinson, who also participated in the earlier stages of the event, will also be contributing to Baptist Health's efforts with the Baptist Health Foundation's COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund.
Nguyen streamed his participation in the event on his Twitch channel, @MausTrapps.
