Next Two Weekends Huge for Blues
March 5, 2008 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Springfield Jr. Blues News Release
The Springfield Jr. Blues host Central Division leader N. Iowa at the Nelson Center this weekend for two games. The outcome from this weekend could be huge.....
The Jr. Blues are 2 points behind 2nd place S. Minnesota and desperately need a few points to stay in the hunt for the all-important second place spot and home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs. S. Minnesota plays two games in Bismarck - a team that has beat them the last two games they played.
The Blues head into the end of the season on fire and beat N. Iowa two out of the three games played at the Nelson Center just two weeks ago. The week before they beat S. Minnesota 6-2 and 7-2.
"We beat the number one and two teams in the division handily, so I am confident that if we secure a playoff spot, we have a chance to get to the Robertson Cup finals", says coach Chris Wyler.
Wouldn't that be nice - from last place a year ago to the top of the heap one year later.... Stay tuned!!
