MONTPELIER, VT - It was newcomers Noah Hsue (Mercer Island, WA/ Washington) and Jordan Anderson (Madison, AL/ Mississippi State) that carried Vermont past Danbury Friday night, 8-3.

Hsue went 3-3, with two RBI's, was a homerun away from the cycle, and Anderson was 1-2 and scored two runs, both making immediate impacts this Mountaineers lineup.

Vermont got off to a quick start in the bottom of the second inning. After Anderson led off the inning with a walk, he scored a run on a double by Chase Achuff (St. Petersburg, FL/ Eckerd) down the left field line. Achuff would then score on the double by Hsue, making it 2-0 Mountaineers.

After a solo homerun from Walker Imwalle (Wallace, NC/ Davidson) closed the lead to 2-1, Vermont answered back with three in the bottom of the fourth. Anderson led off the inning with a hit by pitch, and came around to score on a double by Nolan Tressler (Woodstock, GA/ Georgia Southern). Hsue then tripled, scoring Tressler, and making the lead 5-1.

Vermont would add three more in the bottom of the 8th. Nate Grys (Sterling Heights, MI/ Western Michigan) singled home two more, giving him the team lead with 12 RBI's. That would be all, as Vermont took the game 8-3.

Jackson Shaver (Muskegon, MI/ Eastern Michigan) rebounded from his last start at Keene, going five and a third innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits, while striking out three and walking two. Brian Herrmann (Northport, NY/ Stony Brook) pitched two and two thirds solid innings out of the pen.

Danbury starter Taylor Dye (Littleton, CO/ Colorado Mesa) only lasted three innings, taking the loss for the Westerners. He allowed three runs on four hits, while striking out two.
