
New York Red Bulls Homegrowns John Tolkin and Daniel Edelman Named to 2023 MLS 22 U 22 List

HARRISON, N.J. - Major League Soccer announced their annual 22 Under 22 List, which ranks the top players in MLS under the age of 22, and New York Red Bulls homegrowns John Tolkin and Daniel Edelman both were named to the list.
Tolkin, 21, made the list for the second-consecutive year and ranks No. 6 on the list for the second time. This season, Tolkin has made 25 MLS matches and has recorded two goals and six assists. The Chatham, N.J. native tallied eight assists across all competitions, which is a new franchise record for most assists by a defender in a single season. He was named to his first MLS All-Star roster this year and became only the second Red Bulls homegrown ever to be a named an All-Star. Tolkin also received his first senior United States Men's National team call-up this year.
Edelman, 20, was named to the list for the first time in his career and ranks No. 21 on the list. He has made 22 MLS appearances this year and has recorded one goal and one assist. The Warren, N.J. native recorded his first professional assist on June 24 against Atlanta United FC in a 4-0 victory. Edelman captained the United States U-20 team at the 2023 U-20 FIFA World Cup.
The Red Bulls will be back in action on Saturday, October 21 for MLS Decision Day, when they travel to Nashville, Tennessee to face off against Nashville SC.
