New York Liberty Sign Sika Koné

NEW YORK - The New York Liberty has signed 6-3 forward, Sika Koné, the team's No. 29 overall selection in the 2022 WNBA Draft, to a rookie scale contract.

Koné (20) will join New York after four seasons with Spar Gran Canaria in Spain's LF Endesa (2019-2023). A member of Mali's National Team, Sika impressed in the 2022 FIBA World Cup after registering averages of 12 points and a tournament-best 11.8 rebounds per game-including 4.6 offensive rebounds per game.

Currently, with Gran Canaria, Koné is averaging 17.1 points and 13.6 boards through 20 games where she has amassed 15 double-doubles and finished with double figure scoring in each contest.
