New York Liberty News Release
NEW YORK - The New York Liberty has signed guard/forward, Kennedy Burke, in open free agency.
"Kennedy is a versatile player who will play multiple positions for us," said Liberty General Manager Jonathan Kolb. "Her length, athleticism, skill, and passion have made her one of the very best players in EuroLeague, and she will be an important addition to our group."
Burke, a 6-1 guard/forward from Northridge, Calif. and UCLA, joins New York with over five year's professional experience between the WNBA and internationally. Most notably, she has made 92 total WNBA appearances, starting 22 games, with the Indiana Fever (2019-2020), Seattle Storm (2021), and Washington Mystics (2022).
Drafted No. 22 overall in 2019, Kennedy has posted averages of 4.9 points and 1.5 rebounds on a combined 42.8% from the field and 33.3% from three throughout her WNBA tenure. Currently, as a member of Villeneuve (France), Burke has averaged 15.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.2 steals, and 2.5 assists in EuroLeague - earning the December MVP Award.
The New York Liberty's 2024 season tips off on May 14. Season ticket memberships and single game tickets for home games at Barclays Center are on sale now at Ticketmaster.
