New Mexico United Unveils NM Chiles Retro Jersey, Which Will Go on Sale this Friday

Albuquerque, NM - As part of their New Mexico True night festivities, New Mexico United is thrilled to unveil their New Mexico Chiles retro jerseys, created to pay homage to one of the early clubs in our state's soccer history. The kits go on sale this Friday at the New Mexico United team shop, which opens at 10:00 AM. 100% of the proceeds raised from the sale of these shirts (available in red and green) will be donated directly to the Somos Unidos Foundation and utilized for New Mexico United Academy scholarships. The New Mexico United Academy is one of just a few professional academies in the nation that is completely scholarshipped for every player, regardless of income.

"We are so honored to have the opportunity to honor a crucial piece of our soccer history," said New Mexico United Owner/President Peter Trevisani. "These incredible jerseys, created in homage to the original Chiles and to honor a previous generation of New Mexican soccer, will now help fund the next generation."

The New Mexico Chiles played in the American Professional Soccer League in 1990, before merging with the New Mexico Roadrunners in 1991. New Mexico United plans to honor chiles players in-person early next season.

The jerseys, which feature an updated Chiles/United crest and kit sponsor New Mexico True, will be available in both red and green, and go on sale in-store and online on Friday.
