
Toros Draw against New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico - Rio Grande Valley FC (10-10-8; 38 pts.) draw 1-1 against New Mexico United (10-9-9; 39 pts.) on Saturday night at Isotopes Park.
RGV FC went up early on the scoreboard in the 5th minute of the game as Elvis Amoh scored his 11th goal of the season with the team. Amoh received the ball from Kyle Edwards who had won the ball after being closed off by multiple New Mexico defenders. Edwards saw the opportunity and passed the ball on to Amoh who tapped it straight into the goal for a 1-0 lead.
New Mexico equalized the match at the 24th minute after Christopher Wehan received the ball from his teammate Sergio Rivas. Wehan took the opportunity and placed the ball into the center of the goal tying the game 1-1.
In the 9th minute Amoh had a second opportunity to score as he took a right footed shot from outside of the box, but the ball was short of the goal. Carter Manley shut down a dangerous play in the 20th minute after New Mexico's Daniel Bruce had a close range shot at goal. Jonas Fjeldberg took a right footed shot in the 29th minute but the ball went high over the goal.
During the second half Tyler Deric saved the ball in the 65th minute after Isidro Martinez took a shot on goal. One minute after, Rodrigo López took a shot from the center of the box but was blocked.
Overall the Toros had seven shots, one on target and five created opportunities. Amoh led the team with two shots, one on target. Edwards led with two created chances. Deric tallied one save.
