New Mexico United News Release
Albuquerque, NM - New Mexico United is excited to announce the addition of McKinze Gaines to the club's roster ahead of the 2025 USL Championship season. The exciting, speedy winger joins the Black & Yellow fresh off of a four-year stint in Major League Soccer that saw him make 74 senior-level appearances.
"McKinze is an incredible talent and wonderful, humble human being," said United Sporting Director Itamar Keinan. "We are excited to welcome him to the Black & Yellow family, and can't wait to see what he'll accomplish on and off the pitch."
Prior to his time in the MLS, Gaines spent five seasons overseas, playing five seasons in Germany for iconic clubs like Wolfsburg and Hannover 96. Gaines has represented the United States at the U17 and U19 levels, making his international debut in 2014. Despite being just 26 years old, he has made more than 150 club appearances. Gaines is a native of Austin, TX.
