New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Following last Thursday's 1-0 victory over previously unbeaten FC Dallas at Pizza Hut Park, the New England Revolution will return home to host the Eastern Conference rival Chicago Fire on Saturday, May 3 at Gillette Stadium. The game will be televised live regionally on TV38 at 7:30 p.m. ET, while the WEEI Radio Network will also carry the game.
The match presents an early-season shot at redemption for the Revs, who were defeated, 4-0, by the Fire on April 3 at Toyota Park. Chicago took advantage of Jeff Larentowicz's seventh-minute red-card ejection to stun the Revolution with four first-half goals en route to the win.
New England's quest for revenge adds yet another dimension to the already potent rivalry, as the teams have met 32 times in regular-season action, with the series tied at 13-13-6. The clubs are also currently tied for second place in the Eastern Conference standings, as each has 10 points.
