New England Revolution News Release


ORLANDO, Fla. - The New England Revolution has temporarily relocated team operations to Orlando for a six-day training trip that will now include two games. On Tuesday, the Revs will face fellow MLS club FC Dallas, before facing a team of local collegiate all-stars on Thursday morning.

Listed below is the Revolution's complete schedule for the week, plus the club's schedule for the following Monday. Please keep in mind that this schedule is subject to change, and anyone planning to attend a training session should contact the Revolution Communications office to confirm the team's schedule.

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION SCHEDULE: Feb. 22-March 1 Monday, Feb. 22 - Training at University of Central Florida (Orlando, Fla.), 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23 - vs. FC Dallas (ESPN Wide World of Sports, Orlando, Fla.), 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24 - Training at University of Central Florida (Orlando, Fla.), 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 - vs. local college all-stars (University of Central Florida, Orlando, Fla.), 10:30 a.m.... Return to Boston Friday, Feb. 26 - OFF Saturday, Feb. 27 - OFF Sunday, Feb. 28 - OFF Monday, March 1- Training at Dana-Farber Field House (Gillette Stadium), 10 a.m.

NEWS & NOTES

CHICAGO HOME MATCH PUSHED BACK ONE DAY The Revolution's June 26 home match against the Chicago Fire has been pushed back one day and will now be played at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 27... an updated 2010 schedule can be found at revolutionsoccer.net.

REVS ADD SENEGALESE MIDFIELDER Today the team announced that it has signed Senegalese midfielder Niouky Desire to an MLS contract... the 23-year old central midfielder will occupy one of the team's eight international roster spots, and will join the team pending receipt of his U.S. P-1 Visa... a traditional center midfielder, Desire is expected to compete for playing time and add depth to the midfielder corps.

NEW FIELDTURF BEING LAIDAT GILLETTE STADIUM The New England Revolution, New England Patriots and FieldTurf announced on Monday that Gillette Stadium will be resurfaced with FieldTurf Duraspine PRO, the new standard in artificial turf and the latest turf innovation from FieldTurf... work on the new turf surface began on Monday, and the new playing surface will be in place in time for the Revolution's home opener on April 10 against Toronto FC.

PAIR OF MATCHES ON TAP With the team in Orlando, the Revs will play two matches on the training trip... on Tuesday, Feb. 23, the squad will take on FC Dallas at 10:30 a.m., at the ESPN Wide World of Sports... before departing the area and heading back to Boston on Thursday, the Revs will take on a collegiate all-star team from the area at 10:30 a.m. at the University of Central Florida.

YOUTH TEAMS SPLIT FIRST WEEKEND OF PLAY The Revolution's youth teams split their first weekend of play in the 2010 season... on Saturday, Feb. 20, both the U18 and U16 squads earned wins over South Central Premier in Connecticut... the U18s earned a 4-0 win, while the U16s took a 3-2 victory... on Sunday, Feb. 21, however, both teams dropped 1-0 matches to Oakwood SC.

SINGLE-GAME TICKETS GO ON SALE MARCH 5 Individual game tickets for 2010 Revolution matches at Gillette Stadium will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 5... tickets can be purchased through all Ticketmaster outlets and through the Revolution ticket office by calling 1-877-GET-REVS.
