
Nelson, Paduch Named American Association Players Of The Week

DURHAM, NC - The official statistician of the American Association, PA-Sportsticker, has selected Sioux City Explorers OF Justin Nelson and Lincoln Saltdogs RHP Jim Paduch as the Teamline Direct Batter and Pitcher of the Week.
Nelson batted .423 with three home runs, eight RBI and eight runs scored in seven games. He banged out 11 hits, including three doubles, slugged .885 and had an on-base percentage of .531. In Sioux City's 12-6 win over the Sioux Falls Canaries, Nelson went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and a RBI. The Vista, CA resident is currently hitting .274 with nine home runs and 58 runs driven in.
Paduch was spectacular in Lincoln's 1-0 win over the Wichita Wingnuts Thursday. The Elmwood Park, IL resident went eight innings allowing six hits while fanning 11 Wichita batters. On the season, Paduch is 6-5 with an ERA of 4.57.
