North Carolina FC News Release

CARY, NC (January 9, 2015) - The Carolina RailHawks bolstered their midfield on Friday with the addition of NASL highly regarded veteran Neil Hlavaty ahead of the 2015 season.

Hlavaty, a 6-foot-1 midfielder, spent the last two seasons playing for FC Edmonton. During his two seasons with the Eddies, he appeared in 51 NASL matches, logged 4,140+ minutes and scored five goals.

"I am delighted to be able to add Neil to our team for the upcoming season," Said RailHawks Head Coach Colin Clarke. "He is yet another player with great NASL experience that joins our roster ahead of the 2015 Season. I am sure that with his contributions we are going to be a step closer to bringing a championship to the Triangle"

Prior to transferring to FC Edmonton, Hlavaty enjoyed a stellar three-year stint in Minnesota where he was an integral member of the NASL team that won the 2011 Soccer Bowl and finished in second place in 2012.

The Berwyn, Illinois native played three years of college soccer at Boston University where he earned multiple individual honors. In 2008, former RailHawks Head Coach Martin Rennie signed him to his first professional contract with the Cleveland City Stars. While in Cleveland he was a teammate of current RailHawks goalkeeper Hunter Gilstrap.
