Waterloo Bucks News Release
Waterloo, IA - The Waterloo Bucks have announced the hiring of Neil Birdsall as the team's new Ticket & Stadium Operations Manager. Birdsall most recently worked for the Arizona Diamondbacks in the organization's Ticket Sales, Services & Operations department as a Data Specialist & Manager.
"I am so excited to be here in the Cedar Valley with the opportunity to not only strengthen, but also grow the Waterloo Bucks baseball brand and outreach efforts," said Birdsall. "[General Manager] Dan Corbin and his staff have made great strides towards enhancing the value and impact of the service and entertainment value the Bucks provide and I welcome the challenge to apply the knowledge and experience I have gained and had in my 18 years working in the baseball industry to those efforts."
Originally from Hampton, Iowa, Birdsall started his professional career with an internship with the Quad City River Bandits of the Midwest League. That turned into a full-time position with the River Bandits, as Birdsall was named the Director of Ticket Operations, a position he held from February of 1999 through April of 2001. Birdsall joined the Diamondbacks organization in February of 2002 as a Ticket Sales Representative and was eventually promoted to the Manager of the D-backs' Ticket Office Call Center, a position he held from 2003 through 2008. Birdsall transitioned to the Data Specialist & Manager role in 2009.
In addition to a strong baseball background, Birdsall has volunteered at the Waste Management Phoenix Open golf tournament for the last 14 years, starting as a regular volunteer until being promoted to a Hole Captain role, working for the scoring arm of the tournament called Shotlink.
"Neil comes to us with an extensive range of experiences, having been in the front offices of teams from both the Midwest League and Major League Baseball," said Corbin. "I look forward to having him contribute to our continued success and interact with all of our great fans."
In his role with the Bucks, Neil will oversee group and season ticket sales, stadium operations, and the Cost Cutters Field at Riverfront Stadium Ticket Office.
The Bucks play at Cost Cutters Field at Riverfront Stadium where the team welcomed a new state of the art video board in 2016 thanks to a matching grant from the Black Hawk County Gaming Association. Team ownership has invested more than $170,000 in improvements since the end of the 2014 season including painted bleachers, public Wi-Fi, sound system, group outing areas, and concessions equipment. Fans are encouraged to stay in touch during the off-season with the Bucks by utilizing their website at www.waterloobucks.com or utilizing the Northwoods League Mobile App.
