December 10, 2015 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Windsor Express News Release
The 2-Time defending NBL Canada Champions, Windsor Express received great news this past week, as much needed funding was raised through a stock purchase in the organization.
A private local Windsor partner has joined the owners of the Windsor Express. The amount & percentage is confidential but the valuation of the team was valued in excess of $1,500,000. This is a significant step in the growth of the 5 year old league.

League Commissioner David Magley, could not be more thrilled, "this move is a great strategic move for the Express & our league as a whole. One of the primary tenants of my 1st year objectives was to work with the individual clubs to shore up the financial piece of each local franchise with additional funding preferably from local supporters. Dartis Willis & his partners have worked diligently to put a great product on the floor & earn the respect of their market. This move is a significant step in the right direction."
With this move every franchise now has Canadian ownership, a fact that helps the league build local support.
Magley went on to say, "the valuation of the team, is also quite significant because it speaks to the growth & viability of the model."
Exhibition games begin next week which include the Express taking on the Lima Express of the Midwest Professional Basketball Association (MPBA) on December 13th & London Lightning on December 19th. All teams will be playing their first regular season game on December 26th. Less than (3) weeks left to purchase season tickets as holiday gifts.
