
NBC changes date of opener

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Jan. 11, 2005) â The defending ArenaBowl champion San Jose SaberCats will have to wait one more day to begin defense of their league title.
The team's 2005 season-opening game at Tampa Bay has been moved to Sunday, January 30 at noon (PT) to accommodate a national television audience. The game will be played at the St. Pete Times Forum and broadcast on NBC as part of an AFL on NBC doubleheader.
The contest was originally scheduled for Saturday, January 29.
San Jose opens the home portion of its 2005 season on Saturday, February 5 against the Las Vegas Gladiators at HP Pavilion. Individual game tickets for the 2005 season can be purchased through any Northern California TicketMaster outlet, online at www.ticketmaster.com and at the HP Pavilion box office.
