Northwest Arkansas Naturals News Release

SPRINGDALE, Ark. - The Northwest Arkansas Naturals mourn today's news from the Kansas City Royals that Mr. David Glass, former Owner and Chairman of the Royals, passed away last week.

"The Naturals join the baseball community in mourning the passing of Mr. David Glass." stated Naturals Vice President/General Manager Justin Cole. "Mr. Glass was great friend and wonderful partner to the Naturals team and many of us in the Front Office. He was always gracious with his time and was incredibly willing to do whatever he could to see our team succeed in Northwest Arkansas. Our condolences to the Glass family during this time."

Mr. David Glass, former President and CEO of Walmart, owned the Kansas City Royals for 20 seasons. He officially acquired the franchise in April of 2000 before selling the club this past year to John Sherman.

During his time as Owner and Chairman, he guided the Royals to back-to-back World Series appearances (2014-2015) and brought a World Series Championship back to Kansas City in 2015.

The Northwest Arkansas Naturals have been the Double-A Affiliate of the Kansas City Royals since the 2008 season when the franchise began playing at Arvest Ballpark in Springdale while the franchise affiliation between the Kansas City Royals and Rich Baseball Operations dates back to 1995.
