Northwest Arkansas Naturals News Release

SPRINGDALE, Ark. - As April turns to May, the Naturals continue to spend time in the Northwest Arkansas communities that their players, coaches and staff call home. In the days leading up to and including their eight-game homestand from April 30-May 7, the Naturals will make five appearances in the community.

Monday, April 29: Who knew that a Sasquatch could also be a musician? Northwest Arkansas' favorite Sasquatch will join the Elmwood Middle School band, orchestra and choir in their final rehearsal before their performance prior to Tuesday night's game as the Naturals host the Springfield Cardinals.

Tuesday, April 30: As the Naturals begin their third homestand of the season, Strike will meet with members of the Springdale Kiwanis Club during the afternoon.

Thursday, May 2: Naturals staff members will be at Gentry Middle School helping out with their 8th grade mock job interviews

Saturday, May 4: Strike will visit with patients at Hope Cancer Resources in Springdale, spreading cheer and positive energy. After his visit, Strike will head over to Pinnacle Hills Mall in Rogers for the Touch-a-Truck event, benefiting the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas.

For the third consecutive year, the Naturals and Ozark Guidance will partner to bring Naturals fans a unique opportunity. On May 4, all of the Naturals' coaches and players will wear a jersey other than the traditional home white or sky blue as the team dons teal jerseys in honor of Mental Health Awareness. Fans will be able to bid on the jersey tops during a silent auction during the game, and will receive the uniform at the conclusion of the Naturals' game against the Arkansas Travelers. All proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to Ozark Guidance in support of their mental healthcare efforts.

In addition to Strike's visits around Northwest Arkansas, the Naturals will welcome 19 groups to Arvest Ballpark this homestand as part of the team's fundraising program. These groups include Elmwood Middle School Music Department, Washington Junior High School Choir Department, Haas Hall Academy, Lingle Middle School Music Department, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Youth Group, American Cancer Society, Team Bertschy, Walker Elementary School Music Department, Apple Glen Elementary School Music Department, Reagan Elementary School Music Department, Northside Elementary School Music Department, Shaw Elementary School Music Department, Children's Miracle Network, Mother's Day Out from Central United Methodist Church in Rogers, Teen Action & Support Center, Habitat for Humanity, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School PTO, Cooper Elementary School and EOA Headstart.

On Thursday, May 2 and Monday, May 6, the Naturals welcome local students to Arvest Ballpark who are recipients of the Most Improved Student Award presented by the Jones Center. With the help of the Jones Center, the Naturals will be rewarding students from all over the area who were nominated by their teachers as the most improved student in their class. Each nominated student will receive two free tickets, a free Kansas City Royals KidsZone wristband and $20 to spend on an activity of their choice at the Jones Center in Springdale.
