Northwest Arkansas Naturals News Release

SPRINGDALE, Ark. - Northwest Arkansas (4-5) picked up their second consecutive victory over the Midland RockHounds (3-6) on Saturday night, defeating them by the score of 5-0 to take the 3-game series. LHP Brandon Finnegan and RHP Andy Ferguson combined for the shutout by throwing 9 innings of four-hit baseball.

Finnegan, in his 2015 home debut, made the start and went 4 scoreless innings while only allowing one-hit to lower his season ERA to 3.86. Ferguson, the Naturals 2014 Pitcher of the Year, followed suit by tossing 5 innings of three-hit baseball to complete the game. Ferguson earned the victory and improves to 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA on the young season.

The Naturals struck first in the bottom of the third inning. Dusty Coleman led off the inning with a walk, advanced to third two batters later on a bunt single by Terrance Gore, and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Lane Adams to go up 1-0.

The Naturals then broke open the game in the bottom of the sixth. Gore, who finished the game 2-3 with two stolen bases and a run, led off the inning with a single and then moved to second on a Lane Adams single. Hunter Dozier walked and then Gore was driven in by a Mike Bianucci sacrifice fly with the bases loaded to make it a 2-0 game. Balbino Fuenmayor followed with an RBI single and advanced to second base on the throw as Dozier took third. Following a Alex Liddi walk, Dusty Coleman, a former RockHound, drove in a pair with a 2-out, 2-run single to make it 5-0.

RHP Jake Sanchez (0-2, 6.10) took the loss for the RockHounds giving up 5 runs on 4 hits over 5.2 innings pitched.
