
Nationwide Tour to Stop at Zephyr Field

Metairie, LA â Baseball USA, a national tour of 46 major and minor league ballparks for the purpose of creating interaction, and excitement for our national pastime, will visit Zephyr Field the home of the New Orleans Zephyrs, the Class AAA Affiliate of the Houston Astros, this Sunday June 1st at 2:00 P.M. The tour travels via a 45-foot bus to 36 states and began on May 22 and ends on August 15.
Baseball USA will also set up a fan zone, in which fans will have the opportunity to partake in interactive events. A speed pitch and jump castle will be on hand in the inflatable tent and the cool down tent will consist of several misting fans to help fans beat the heat. An interactive home run derby game will also be on hand for fans to test their skills.
Baseball USA is also partnering with the local chapter of the Make-A-Wish foundation at each tour stop. Baseball USA will take a local wish child and their family to the game and present a donation to the local Make-A-Wish Chapter on the field prior to the game, and grant the wish child the opportunity to throw out the first pitch.
Admission to the fan zone is free to all ages with paid admission to Sunday's game. The fan zone will open at 2:00 P.M. and will close thirty minutes prior to the start of the Zephyrs game. The Zephyrs play host to the Iowa Cubs in game two of a four game series on Sunday with first pitch scheduled for 5:05 P.M.
