National Anthem Tryouts Set For February 13

OMAHA, NE - For the fifth consecutive year, the Omaha Royals annual National Anthem tryouts will be held at Oakview Mall. The tryouts are slated for Saturday, February 13th, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Those interested in trying out need to register in advance by going to www.oroyals.com and clicking on the "Fans" tab to fill out a registration form.

Soloists, instrumentalists and groups are all welcome to try out. Judging will be based on lyrical accuracy, voice quality, presentation, voice projection and overall performance quality. Music or lyric sheets will not be allowed at the auditions.

The performers selected will have the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at one of the Royals 72 home games. Each group or soloist chosen will receive up to four tickets to the game at which they perform.

"The Omaha Royals are excited to host the National Anthem tryouts at Oakview Mall once again," said Diann Spataro, Royals Community Relations Manager. "Going into our last season at Rosenblatt Stadium, we are expecting some of the best singers ever out at the ballpark this summer."

The Royals open their 2010 season at Rosenblatt Stadium on Thursday, April 8th at 7:05 p.m. facing the Memphis Redbirds. 2010 season tickets, mini-plans and other ticket packages are currently on sale, with single-game tickets going on sale Saturday, March 13.
