Nathan Mikolas Joins LumberKings Coaching Staff

CLINTON, IA - The Clinton LumberKings, in conjunction with the Miami Marlins, have added Nathan Mikolas to their, now, four-man coaching staff. Mikolas joins the LumberKings staff as an Defensive coach as part of a promotion from the Batavia Muckdogs.

Mikols, 25, is recently coming off a playing career that was spent entirely in the New York Yankees farm system. The final season of his playing career came in 2016 where he reached his highest level with the Low-A Charleston River Dogs of the South Atlantic League. The Yankees selected him in the 3rd round of the 2012 MLB Draft and then released him prior to the 2017 season.

Mikols began his coaching career after spending a year out of baseball. His first coaching assignment came with the Gulf Coast League Marlins as a defensive, baserunning, and bunting coach. He opened the 2019 season with the Batavia Muckdogs as Defensive Coach before earning the coaching promotion to Clinton.

The LumberKings coaching staff is now made up of by four coaches. Manger Mike Jacobs, Pitching Coach Mark DiFelice, Hitting Coach Frank Moore, and Defensive Coach Nathan Mikolas.
