Joe Palumbo: 24-year-old Joe Palumbo starts for the Sounds tonight. The left-hander is 1-0 with a 3.94 ERA in 4 starts with Nashville. Palumbo last pitched on August 4 versus Albuquerque in his first game from being reinstated from the 7-day injured list. He worked a scheduled short outing, going 2.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs on 2 hits and 1 walk with 5 strikeouts. He threw just 37 pitches, 24 for strikes in the 7-6 win. In four starts with the Sounds this season, Palumbo is 1-0 with a 3.94 ERA and has struck out 25 batters to 7 walks in 16.0 innings. The New York native has spent the majority of his 2019 season at Double-A Frisco where he went 0-0 with a 3.19 ERA in 11 games (10 starts). He covered 53.2 innings and has allowed 43 hits and 25 walks to go along with 69 strikeouts. Palumbo has made three appearances (two starts) for Texas, his last appearance coming in relief on July 7 at Minnesota. He threw 3.0 shutout innings in the 4-1, 11-inning win over the Twins. Overall, Palumbo is 0-1 with an 11.00 ERA with the Rangers. He's currently listed as the #6 Rangers prospect by MLB Pipeline. The Rangers drafted him in the 30th round of the 2013 MLB Draft out of St. John the Baptist (NY) High School.

Four in a Row for Wisdom: Patrick Wisdom's hit another home run last night, giving him four consecutive games with a home run and has five total in the four games. The four games tops his previous home run streak of three games from July 19 - 23. Since June 18, Wisdom has hit 17 home runs in 39 games, the second-most in the Pacific Coast League behind only Jared Walsh of Salt Lake with 18. In that span, Wisdom is hitting .280 (42-for-50) with 31 runs, 8 doubles, 17 home runs, and 32 RBI.

You've Got a Friend in Me: Infielder Andy Ibáñez has hit safely in 8 straight games, tying his season high. He is hitting .483 (14-for-29) with 10 runs, 4 doubles, 2 home runs, 7 RBI and 6 walks since July 27. In that span, he is slashing .483/.556/.828.

Punchouts: Yesterday's starter Brock Burke threw a gem in his Nashville Sounds debut, striking out 8 batters in 5.0 innings of work. The Sounds would total 14 strikeouts in the victory, matching their season-high. The Nashville staff struck out 14 batters five other times, the last time coming on July 13 versus New Orleans.
