From the Notes

Leading Off: Sounds Manager Fran Riordan has placed Nick Martini in the leadoff spot in each of the last three games and the move has paid off. In the last three games the Sounds are 3-0 and Martini is batting .500 (6-for-12) with four runs and an RBI. He has an on-base percentage of .571.

Load 'Em Up, Bring 'Em In: Last night's two-out rally in the sixth-inning was highlighted by Beau Taylor's bases clearing double. This season the Sounds have thrived with the bases loaded, batting .382 as a team in that situation. BJ Boyd is 3-for-4 with 7 RBI and Jorge Mateo is 3-for-3 with 6 RBI with the bases loaded.

Scoring in Bunches: The Sounds have been scoring in bunches as of late. Nashville used an eight-run first inning to defeat Colorado Springs 12-7 on May 10, a four-run second inning in their 4-3 win over the Sky Sox May 11, and a four-run sixth and three-run eighth in last night's 8-4 win. This season the Sounds have scored at least three runs in an inning 20 times.

First Inning Woes: Nashville has been outscored 30-19 in the first inning of ball games this season after Memphis scored two runs in the first inning last night. The -11 run differential in the first inning is tied for the worst run differential of any inning for the Sounds this season. They are also -11 in the fifth inning (19-8).
