NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Nashville Soccer Club will continue its quest in the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open this Tuesday as the Boys in Gold travel to South Florida to take on Inter Miami CF live at 6:30 p.m. CT from DRV PNK Stadium. Fans can catch all the action on CBS Sports GOLAZO Network.

Tuesday marks the second consecutive season Nashville SC has earned a trip to the Round of 16 after a pair of victories at GEODIS Park - a 1-0 win over San Antonio FC (USL Championship) in the Third Round with a goal from Ethan Zubak in the 71st minute, and a 2-0 win over FC Dallas in the Round of 32 with goals from Fafà Picault in the 63rd minute and Alex Muyl in the 76th.

Last season, Nashville cliched a berth in the Quarterfinal round after a 2-1 victory on the road against Louisville City FC. Hany Mukhtar scored the game-winning goal for Nashville in the 89th minute to secure the win.

The Boys in Gold will face Inter Miami CF for the second time in six days on Tuesday. Nashville earned a 2-1 victory at GEODIS Park in MLS competition with goals from Fafà Picault and Lukas MacNaughton last Wednesday.

Nashville SC owns a 4W-1L-2D all-time record against Miami, outscoring them 12-4 in series history. Tuesday will mark the first-ever meeting between the two sides in Open Cup play.

Reigning 2022 Landon Donovan MLS MVP Hany Mukhtar has feasted in Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup competition, scoring in every Open Cup match he's played in, earning a total of four goal contributions (3 goals + 1 assist).

Mukhtar is coming off a two-goal performance this past weekend against Charlotte FC and was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday 14 for his efforts. This season, Mukhtar has continued his MVP reign and is tied with Thiago Almada of Atlanta United for the MLS lead in goal contributions (14), scoring eight goals with six assists.

This year marks the 108th edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup as the tournament remains the oldest ongoing national soccer competition in the United States and the world's third-longest continuously run national cup tournament. The historic tournament is conducted on a single-game, knockout basis and open to all professional and amateur teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer.
