Las Vegas Gladiators News Release

Las Vegas, NV, April 1, 2004 – Las Vegas Gladiators' offensive specialist and the Arena Football League's leading receiver Marcus Nash was named the Arena Football League's Baby Ruth Real Deal Offensive Player of the Month today for the month of March.

Nash (6-4, 220, Tennessee) made an assault on the stat books in four games during the month. The second-year AFL receiver hauled in 46 passes for 609 yards and 13 touchdowns. He set Gladiator single game records in the March 14-game against Arizona when he chalked up 16 receptions for 192 yards. For his efforts in that game, Nash was honored as the Baby Ruth Real Deal Co-Offensive Player of the Week and the AFL Writers Association Player of the Week.

"Individual honors are nice," said Nash, "but right now we have to focus on wins. We need to get right so we can make a run at a playoff spot."

On the season, Nash is the leading receiver, both in yardage and receptions, in the AFL with 77 catches for 884 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also leads the league in both scoring (128 pts) and yards from scrimmage (896).

This marks the first time in his career Nash has earned an AFL monthly honor.

Other monthly award winners include Colorado Crush defensive specialist Rashad Floyd (ADT Defensive Player), San Jose SaberCats' WR/DB Rashied Davis (U.S. Army Ironman), Indiana Firebirds' quarterback Adrian McPherson (Rookie) and Detroit Fury kicker Mark Lewis (Kicker).

The Gladiators host the Chicago Rush on Sunday, April 4, at the Thomas & Mack Center. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Tickets are available by calling the Gladiators office at 702-731-4977 or by going online at www.UNLVtickets.com.
