Crush's Floyd named Defensive Player of the Month for March

DENVER - Colorado Crush defensive specialist Rashad Floyd has been named the Arena Football League's ADT Defensive Player of the Month for March of the 2004 season, the league announced today.

Floyd (6-0, 200, Portland State), who is in his third AFL season, led the Central Division-leading Crush (6-2) to a 3-1 record in March and finished the month with 34.5 total tackles, three interceptions, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. Floyd, who leads the AFL in both interceptions (5) and tackles (63.5), also added a 4-yard net recovery for a touchdown in a 54-46 win over Arizona on March 27 and was named AFL Defensive Player of the Week for Week 8.

This marks the first time that Floyd has earned an AFL monthly honor and he is the second Crush player to earn such an honor. Damian Harrell was named Offensive Player of the Month for February of the 2003 season.

Floyd spent two seasons with the Orlando Predators before signing as a free agent with the Crush on October 30, 2003. He has been named Defensive Player of the Game four times through the Crush's first eight games, including each of the last two weeks.

The Crush (6-2) host the Indiana Firebirds (3-5) at the Pepsi Center on Saturday, April 3, 2004 at 1 p.m. MST.
