NAL Championship MVP Chris Gilchrist Returns to Sharks
JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville Sharks announced today that wide receiver Chris Gilchrist (6'5", 215) has resigned for his third season of arena football and third season with the Sharks.
In 2019, Gilchrist began the season at wide receiver where he recorded 16 receptions for 202 yards and three touchdowns and made a huge impact in the Championship game. Gilchrist filled in for suspended All 1st team Jack Linebacker Cody Saul, racking up eight tackles and scoring two touchdowns (one on defense and one on special teams). His performance earned him the NAL Championship game MVP. In 2018, Gilchrist was one of the Sharks top receivers playing in 15 games recording 59 catches, 706 yards and scored 14 touchdowns.
Gilchrist attended West Texas A&M in 2016, where he totaled 326 yards and scored four touchdowns as a receiver. He also attended Mt. San Antonio College for from 2013-2014, where he had 800 yards and four touchdowns. Gilchrist is from Altadena, CA, where he played at Charter Oak High School in Corvina, CA.
