DAYTON, OH - The North Division title literally came down to the final period of 2006 with the Toledo Storm trailing the Chiefs 2-1 to start the Third and the Nailers leading 4-2 in Dayton. The Nailers needed a Storm regulation loss and a win in Dayton to claim the title for the second time in three years.
In the first period Dayton's Van Hoof got the Bombers on the board on a power play goal. The Nailers came roaring back with Sean Collins picking up his 26th goal of the year tying the game at 1. Later Curtiss Patrick gave the Nailers a 2-1 lead at 4:35. Dayton would tie the game at 2 on a short handed goal by Legue at 8:09

In the third period Dayton pulled with one when the Nailers turned the puck over in their own zone and the Bombers were able to beat Andy Franck. In Johnstown at about the same time the Storm tied the game at 2-2. The Nailers would hold on for the 4-3 win. In Johnstown the Chiefs and Storm would go to over time.
