This Week's Recap and Results

Wednesday, March 23: Wheeling - 3 at Florida- 1

Joey Haddad finished with a goal and an assist, while Patrick Killeen made 22 saves, to help lead the Nailers to a 3-1 victory at Florida to open up the road trip. Tyler Murovich and Kyle Kushneriuk each tallied goals for Wheeling. The game featured the league's top two penalty kill units, and both were a perfect 6-for-6 in the contest.

Friday, March 25: Wheeling - 2 vs. Florida-- 3 (Shootout)

Kyle Bushee scored with 47 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the game at two and force overtime. Neither team generated much in the extra session sending the game to be decided in a shootout. Joey Haddad gave Wheeling a 1-0 lead in the shootout, but the Blades received goals from Brad Snetsinger, Dusty Collins, and Matt Beca to secure the 3-2 victory in the shootout.

Saturday, March 26: Wheeling - 5 at Florida-- 0

Kyle Bushee who scored the game tying goal on Friday, posted the game's first goal on Saturday. The goal would be the eventual game winner, as Peter Delmas stopped all 18 shots faced in the contest to help lead Wheeling to a 5-0 win at Florida. The shutout was the third of the season for Delmas. Joey Haddad, Tyler Murovich, Chris Kushneriuk, and Mikael Bedard also scored for the Nailers. Wheeling scored twice on the power play against the league's top penalty kill unit. With the win, the Nailers took five out of a possible six points on the three-game road trip in Florida. The week helped inch the Nailers to clinching a playoff spot. Wheeling officially clinched on Sunday, when Cincinnati defeated Toledo yesterday 3-2 in regulation.

This Week's Quick Hits

The Nailers 5-0 win over the Everblades Saturday, marked the 300th career coaching win for head coach Stan Drulia...Newcomer Tyler Kushneriuk has now scored a goal in four of his first five career games. Joey Haddad had a big week in the Sunshine State, posting five points (3g, 2a) in the three games this week,

Coaches Show: Due to scheduling conflicts, this week's Nailers UnMasked Radio Show will NOT be live on location at Generations Restaurant & Pub. Upcoming Home Schedule and Promotions:

The Nailers return home to WesBanco Arena to battle the Toledo Walleye on Thursday March 31 at 7:05 p.m. Thursday is College Night! $8 tickets to all college students with college ID. The game also features $1 hot dogs and special drink considerations through the 1st intermission. There will also be a free post game concert featuring Mace Ballard!

On Saturday April 2, the Nailers will wrap up their 2010-11 regular season against the Toeldo Walleye. It is Fan Appreciation Night with prizes being given away throughout the night. The game is also NFL Lockout Lallapalooza, fans may receive $5 off admission by wearing an NFL Jersey to the game. Game time is set for 7:35pm. Fans my purchase tickets to both games for just $25.
