Wheeling Nailers News Release
Wheeling, WV- The passing was crisp, the communication was clear and the anticipation of another strong season was evident as the Nailers opened their camp today at WesBanco Arena.
Among the hollering and cheering for well placed shots during the drills was the high pitch chirping of head coach Glenn Patrick's whistle, which spurred team gatherings at the bench for the coach's newest instructions.
The sound of the players carving the ice echoed throughout the arena and the stiff competition between players vying for roster spots was already clear.
Donned in black, navy blue, white, grey and yellow practice jerseys, the team worked one-on-ones and two-on-ones. They worked on bringing the puck out of their own zone as a whole. They worked on crashing the net and screening goaltenders Andy Franck and Kevin Schieve. They worked on whatever needed to be worked on.
It was a strong start to what will certainly be a strong season. Nailers training camp continues Saturday at 10 a.m. at WesBanco arena.
Individual game tickets are on sale now. They can be purchased online at www.WheelingNailers.com, at the Nailers team store located at 1315 Main St. in downtown Wheeling or by calling 304-234-GOAL.
