Nailers Announce Preseason Schedule

Wheeling Nailers News Release
The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens have announced their preseason schedule for the 2012-13 season. Prior to the start of the regular season, the Nailers will take the ice twice, with both contests taking place against the Cincinnati Cyclones.
For the second season in a row, the Nailers and Cyclones will begin the preseason schedule at WesBanco Arena, with the opening game slated for Thursday, October 4th at 7:00. One night later, the two teams will pack up shop and head to Cincinnati's U.S. Bank Arena for a rematch on Friday, October 5th.
Last season, both teams were successful on home ice during the preseason, as Wheeling picked up a 4-1 victory at WesBanco Arena on October 7th, before Cincinnati returned the favor with a 3-2 overtime win on October 8th. Those two games were a relatively accurate preview of the regular season series, as the home team won five of the six contests between the two former division rivals.
Once the preseason concludes, the Nailers will begin the 2012-13 regular season on October 13th, when they make another trip to Cincinnati to battle the Cyclones. Wheeling's home season begins on October 26th against the Reading Royals.
